For the Love of Quotes: A Series of Unfortunate Events – Part 1

Hello woooorld!! I’ve decided to share with you a collection of quotes that I liked from the books I’ve read. The first book/series is A Series of Unfortunate Events by Lemony Snicket. But then I realized I can’t do all 13 books at once or else it would be a very loooong list, so I’m doing it by parts. This is the first, which includes quotes from the first 3 books. Enjoy! 🙂

The Bad Beginning

1. “I don’t know if you’ve ever noticed this, but first impressions are often entirely wrong. Your initial opinion on just about anything may change over time.”

2. “But the children knew, as I’m sure you know, that the worst surroundings in the world can be tolerated if the people in them are interesting and kind.”

3. “Sometimes, just saying that you hate something, and having someone agree with you, can make you feel better about a terrible situation.”

4. “So unless you have been very, very lucky, you know that a good, long session of weeping can often make you feel better, even if your circumstances have not changed one bit.”

6. “They didn’t understand it, but like so many unfortunate events in life, just because you didn’t understand it doesn’t mean it isn’t so.”

The Reptile Room

7. “One of the most difficult things to think about in life is one’s regrets. Something will happen to you, and you will do the wrong thing, and for years afterward you will wish you had done something different.”

8. “Waiting is one of life’s hardships.”

9. “But in life it is often the tiny details that end up being the most important.”

11. “Sometimes even in the most unfortunate of lives there will occur a moment or two of good fortune.”

The Wide Window

12. “Tears are curious things, for like earthquakes or puppet shows they can occur at any time, without any warning and without any good reason.”

13. “Maybe, maybe, maybe. All these maybes won’t get us anywhere.”

14. “Frustration is an interesting emotional state, because it tends to bring out the worst in whoever is frustrated.”
